Requirements for

Committee members

Young Insurance Professionals (YIPS) Australia & New Zealand Inc is run 100% by volunteers from the industry. Without the dedication of our committee members the organisation would be unable to offer the events and services which have become such an important part of attracting and retaining people to the insurance market in Australia.

Prior to applying to become a committee member, please ensure that you have read and agree to the below guidelines.

YIPs committee members must

  • Be a registered member of YIPs
  • Have attended at least one YIPs event
  • Work within the general insurance industry
  • Be able/flexible to attend monthly committee meetings outside of business hours
  • Be supported by their employer/job role to attend occasional meetings during business hours
  • Not work in the recruitment sector
  • Understand issues affecting the YIPs demographic
  • Be able to communicate effectively and be comfortable using social media
  • Be team oriented
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated
